Note: for unknown reason, this code becoming broken after my 8 Feb merge: (follow code found in Easy Drag2Go extension)

var tPrefs = Cc['@mozilla.org/preferences-service;1'].getService(Ci.nsIPrefService);
var lang = tPrefs.getComplexValue('general.useragent.locale', Ci.nsISupportsString).data;

07:20:40.283 TypeError: tPrefs.getComplexValue is not a function

and you will need changing nsIPrefService to nsIPrefBranch in order to make code working again.

* Notice: the changelog above may not always applicable to XULRunner code which K-Meleon uses.

  1. Sadly I tried updating my PM28XP (aka NewMoon) to version 20190223 (palemoon-28.5.0a1.win32-git-20190223-f89a809df-xpmod.7z), but it does not let me change the interface language, as I have done many times in Palemoon (and now in Newmoon). To be exact, my custom value "es-ES" or "es-MX" does not survive the reboot (general.useragent.locale), and always ends up reverted to "en-US".

    PS: The changelog mentions "- Clean up localization. (B9d51d4e3)", will it be related?
    PS2: My normal process includes modifying the latest version of the add-on found at https://github.com/JustOff/pale-moon-localization/releases, and increasing the value of "maxVersion" by 1. I had not had any problems until now.

    1. I also set the strict check to false, just in case

  2. You have to do the same with the langpack https://addons.palemoon.org/language-packs/

  3. It does not work, I tried changing "strict" to "false" and it does not work. I tried to use the official version of the add-on and it did not work either. I honestly believe that there is some new code in the program that is interfering with the language change since the value is despotically reset to "en-US".
    This is a problem since NewMoon is based on the unstable versions of Palemoon, so there are never any language packages to date. And since I use XP I can not do tests with the official palemoon.

    2. Thank you. The new version works correctly. I looked inside of the xpi but did not find any noticeable difference, I guess some important part of the code was missing so the previous version was REALLY incompatible (not even with changes worked).
      Once again, thank you so much.
